Negative Emotions Sensitive Humanoid Robot with Attention-Enhanced Facial Expression Recognition Network

Lonely older adults and persons restricted in movements are apt to cause negative emotions, which is harmful their mental health. A humanoid robot with audiovisual interactions presented, can correspondingly output positive facial expressions relieve human's expressions. The emotions identified through an attention-enhanced expression recognition (FER) network. network firstly trained on MMEW macro-and micro-expression databases discover expression-related features. Then, macro-expression tasks performed by fine-tuning the models several benchmarking FER databases, including CK+ Oulu-CASIA. transformer introduced process sequential features engineered a final stable control order. This order used robot's motor units generate different expressions, e.g., smile expression. Evaluations verify that proposed method precisely recognize joint modulation proves respond effectively user's emotions.
